How to use Background Remover
- Choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP image. Large images are resized to fit a 2048-pixel output edge.
- Choose Remove background. Review the cutout, then use the erase or restore brush for corrections. Undo, redo and resetting the automatic mask are available.
- Choose a transparent or solid background and create a PNG, WebP or JPG download.
The automatic model estimates the main foreground. It may keep part of a shadow or miss fine detail, especially with transparent objects, hair or low-contrast backgrounds. The tool does not identify people, reconstruct hidden objects or upload your photo. Output is browser-decoded 8-bit sRGB. Source EXIF, GPS, color profiles and other metadata are not copied.
Questions about Background Remover
Will every background disappear perfectly?
No. Automatic segmentation is an estimate. Review the full image and use the erase and restore brushes. Glass, fur, hair, shadows and intricate holes can need manual work.
Is the cutout full resolution?
Output retains the image proportions and is limited to 2048 pixels on the longer side. Smaller images are not enlarged. The original filename and pixels are never uploaded.
Does this require an account or a paid AI service?
No. The self-hosted model and inference runtime process the photo on this device. About 20 MB of essential software is downloaded when you first request removal; the browser may cache those public software files.
